Hi. You are very rad for reading this. It automatically makes you cooler than your friends, so give yourself a “CHEERS, [insert name here]!”
Linked To Beer
Oh my gosh, I love the virtual Post-it inspired white board that
created to workshop how to make beer more exciting. It’s part of a great post that you should check out here.
I have thought a lot about the ‘dullness of beer’ topic the past couple years. It’s mentioned in the post too, but, we kinda have what we want, and have had it for some time now (at least most cities beer scenes do):
A good local brewery[s] with a nice beer garden or taproom (most have many).
A reasonable selection of craft beer in our local grocery store.
Craft beer handles in many restaurants.
A good community of folks.
We got to the top of the mountain and now we’re all, ”Are there, like, any other mountains or what?”
I think we just need to be happy. Contentment is a good thing.
Beer has peaked and we just enjoy it while we still do what we can to keep the party quietly continuing.🍻
Music To Beer With
Speaking of cool things to do and discover with beer, have I talked about this band before? (I probably have but I’m going to do it now anyways)
It’s Idles. from Bristol (UK) and, DAMMIT, I can’t keep my eyes and ears off of them!
STOP! Before you go any further, I highly encourage you not to start playing the video until you are cracking open your third beer of your session. When you’re having your third or forth, this seething rock will hit just right:
Budget Beer Week: 12 Packing!
It’s one of those crappy weeks that I can’t allow myself to go into a beer bar or buy any expensive beer in general.
So that means 12-packs, baby! Preferably the variety pack kind so I can get four different beers!
This week’s choice is Sierra Nevada’s ‘Little Thing’ variety pack. It has worked out well. I was especially surprised to find that I like the wheat beer “Sunny Little Thing” in it.
A solid grocery beer 12-pack.
(Side rant: I wish there were (more?) 16oz 12-packs - 12 ouncers go too damn fast)
You Don’t Have To Go Home, But You Can’t Stay Here
These are the items I have for you this week. Go out and appreciate your beer scene, even if it’s just the variety pack section of your grocery store.
Thank you for the read and have a great week!!
-Mikey
Peace ✌️ Beer 🍻 & Metal 🤘
👊🏽 Good job as always! Enjoyed the read; especially about the (perceived) flat beer scene. I think our beer scene is what each as an individual make of it. I am thankful for the scene we have in the Fresno/Clovis area. Just wish it wasn't so dang hot!
Enjoy your beers! 🍻🔧
Love this one, I’ve been pondering about indie beer and it’s glory. Seems like we the drinker/snob chase the glory, until a new one pops up, and on and on the chase continues. When do we as the chaser realize that we are the issue with breweries getting lost or forgotten because of the chase?
