Welcome back to Drinking & Thinking! Still waiting on good outdoor drinking weather to show up. Let’s freaking GO already!
When the Drinking Day is Over
I do not like it when I go to pour some more beer into my glass there is no weight to my can. The can is empty.
An empty can means the fun is over. No more beer. Time for bed. Work is tomorrow.
The gut punch of an empty beer and all of the fallout.
(I think there is the makings of a poem there, I am just not talented enough to figure that out.)
The Resetting of Craft Beer
On this week’s Perfect Pour podcast (my beer geek drinkin’ show which hit 500 episodes this week!!🎉) our guest, Rad Stacey, told us a story involving a twenty-something mentioning the term “microbrew” when talking about a beer.
It feels like maybe we could get back to that, using microbrewery and microbeer.
The term “Craft Beer” got co-opted by Big Beer, so we in the Craft Beer world have kinda wandered around not sure what to call things.
We use Indie Beer on the podcast, others have too. We kinda like that. But maybe microbeer and microbrewery are the better terms to get back too.
So it’s poll time!
I want to see what Drinking & Thinking readers think we should call this whole thing:
I will try to remember to sum up the totals next week. Please leave a comment on this post if you have a better name or any thoughts you’d like to share.
Stuck in Dad Beer Mode
Every week I keep trying to tell myself that I am going to a brewery this weekend to at least pickup some beer. But I end up just going the grocery store or the one bottle shop/beer bar in my neighborhood.
I am stuck in dad-beer mode, staring at grocery store cooler doors instead of a beautiful taproom beer board and ordering some crowlers to-go.
Hopefully I will break out of this rut today and visit an actual brewery. Wish me luck.
Good luck to you and all your drinking efforts this week. Thank you for the read!
