Welp, TikTok came back this morning and blew up the whole post I had planned for today.
I was going to (kinda jokingly) suggest all the Beer TikTokers come over to this NEW (haha) app called Untappd, where you can do all the beer reviews you want and you don’t have to worry about cleaning up your room to do a video.
But never mind about that. Beer TikTok is back and probably isn’t going away… probably.
For real though, it’s a good reminder to beer influencers to not rely solely on somebody else’s app for your brand. Get a .com for yourself, or a newsletter, or both, and build your brand from that. Use social media as a tool, not your whole world.
Having “Cellar Beers” Is Depressing
Last week I committed not to buy any beer for 10 days. All I could drink was what I had stuffed in the back of the fridge (except for the recording of Perfect Pour where I get to drink beer listeners have given us).
So all I had was old beer. Good beer going in though. The kind of beer people save. But I am here to tell you aged beer sucks. While it isn’t terrible and is more drinkable than you might think, it does not help the beer in any way, I don’t think it even calms the alcohol bite down at all.
In fact, a lot of the flavor is gone and you’re left with mostly the taste of the alcohol.
I know this is sort of a “Well, duh, dude.” But a lot of times you’ll let barrel-aged or heavy stouts sit and become something else. I think that something else is less flavor.
Anyway, I am happy that run is over and I am back to buying beer again.
So, thank you for opening this and reading and all that. I hope you have a nice week for yourself and the people you care about do too. Be safe.

Peace. Beer. Metal
I have a 5 year old DIPA in my garage fridge from a brewery that has since closed. Welp!
I quite like Aged Beers. Belgian, usually. Life-enhancing, sometimes. The real problem is getting around to drinking them when they are prime.
