Wow, this topic brought out the comments! FKN A! As Mikey would say… “ had it “ to both.

I kinda dislike the ease of getting Elder, really enjoyed the hunt for a bottle or two because of the limited supply.

Now I can walk in to a Whole Foods and walk out with 8 bottles of each RR beers🤷🏽‍♂️! It’s awesome, but not a cool story to share.

Now I’m in the hunt for Younger , was very close to having it over the weekend but keg was blown. Hope I get a taste or two this year!!

Cheers 🍻 to more beers!

My wife surprised my with a Pliny the younger tasting after I came home from my last deployment a local public house got a keg or two and kept it very quiet, so quiet that when we got there and it was not a line-fest we were shocked, we were sat right away and I enjoyed 2 glasses of younger!!!

No, despite it being on our wishlist for about 15 years. Various people told us that even if a bottle did make its way across the Atlantic It would have lost its zing by the time it got to us. We resorted to asking people who *had* tried it which UK beer came closest and settled on Thornbridge Halcyon.

I live in VA. No Russian River sold in The Commonwealth, ' used to get PTE only in Cali or if a friend brought one back from a trip. Now, I find it in CO where I visit a few times per year. In fact, I am drinking one right now in Colo Spgs. PTY - only had once. A neighbor was in Cali during the release and brought back a couple of bottles and was kind enough to share. What's interesting is RR brews some great beers across the range of styles. It is almost like PTE is their "Freebird". Yet, they continue to "play" it and do so with the same effort and dedication as before it hit whale status. The Alchemist is the same with Heady. Pick up a lesser known beer from either brewer and you won't be disappointed. Cheers!

Can’t find it from East of Illinois and South of Illinois. Cant find it in Michigan, NYC, Philly or New England but I’ve had that style that is as good or better than Pliny. 🍻

The Bistro in Hayward has, or used to have several IPA forward wonderful festivals. We went to the double IPA festival several times [along with a dry hop, and IPA and maybe other] I think the first time we went, the Younger was not as well known (?) there was hardly a line for the Russian River booth, and i think we went back and got 2nds and more. How glorious! Years later we obtained a growler of the Younger, and that was at least 10 years ago. I've not had it since, but like you said, the Elder is so much more available, and in fact they Ship! [my favourite method of obtaining beer]

Good Times!
