Not much. Not much happened at all.
The past couple of months or so I have done very little beer drinking - with the exception of this episode of The Perfect Pour.
Budget and reasons, were the inspiration for the partial dry-out.
It had been some time in my life since I drank so little. Like, maybe before I was 21.
I thought I would feel “better” or have more energy. More clarity or something. Really, I just felt the same (except I was missing those beer buzzes at night).
Friday night I began drinking like normal again.
I had a nice music and beer-fueled creative buzz like I hadn’t in quite some time. It was nice.
Report over. Now back to normal drinking:
Bought these over the weekend. I was very happy to find a Kokua relief beer - I might be into Session IPAs again.
The Multitasking of Taprooms
Been talking with folks lately about taprooms and beer gardens being less about the beer and more about the events and special nights.
While I don’t really like breweries having to put on all kinds of non-beer events to keep people coming through the doors, I will respect it as a necessary evil.
Do I feel like we are sometimes taken for granted? For sure. But business gotta business.
Local side note: I have to respect Tioga Sequoia’s Beer Garden in Downtown Fresno for becoming a music venue for the city. They can bring in bands that otherwise might pass up Fresno because there isn’t a space available. So, not only are they doing the city a service with their beer, they are doing it with live music.
They had a rocking fucker of a show on Friday as Australian band, Amyl & The Sniffers, came through and kicked the ass.
We had a little bit of a discussion on this week’s Perfect Pour podcast about it, if you would like to listen for it, the video should start at the moment we start talking about it:
Alright, well, that was something.
Thanks a lot for the read. Share if ya think about it. Stick around to the end where I have a special sell-out message for you.
Have a great week with your beers and I’ll talk to you later.

Peace. Beer. Metal.
PS: Don’t hate me for this but lately I have been gathering up affiliates to work with to earn some beer and food money from my writing and stuff. So, for the first time in my indie blog/newsletter writing history I posting a sponsor for this issue/post.
This week I am picking Pete’s Coffee. It’s the coffee I drink every day and they were willing to let me work with then so why the hell not!? I usually go with Big Bang (if you care) and drown it in French vanilla creamer (I am a child). They have limited runs and teas too, for you sickos.
So click on a link above and buy some coffee or whatever, if ya want, and I might get a little kicky back.
Because we all know coffee is the #1 morning drink for hungover beer drinkers returning to the game, like me. Cheers!
thanks! well, i roast my own coffee, and Peets does not sell green coffee beans... Will try again!
Just what I needed this Sunday morning. Thanks, Mikey.
