Hey nowww, look at you New Hampshire! The only state drinking in the black. I will be checking NH Zillow listings after this because I want to be around people that enjoy drinking beer!

Respect to Vermont, North Dakota and Montana for their beer drinking prowess too.

And what does it say about Californians when you have (arguably) the best beer in the country and don’t drink it that much!?

There may not be any new information here for you but I like to recalibrate and go back to basics every now and again:

The takeaway is still:

• A straight glass sucks.

• Some head (don’t be nasty) is a good thing.

• A beer that is too cold is not going to be very interesting.

I’m still building and figuring out a full definition of what “lo-fi beer drinking” is but sitting alone in peace with a beer is definitely an element.

Another brewery sent us beer in a box that formerly held hops once. We saw the hops label on the box and were like we don’t need these hops until like next year & threw them in the cooler. A year later we opened the box on brew day & found a bunch of beer from another brewery 🤷‍♂️

Lesson: Don’t disguise beer you send to Off Color like you disguise the beer you send to your bro back in Phoenix.

Special beer enjoyed today. An Iris 2005 from the Cantillon cellar. Still plenty of carbonation, old bitter hops, marked astringency. Impressive & hugely enjoyable.
