HopCulture.com has the Top 20 Beer Labels of 2020. Label art is a very subjective thing…so I’ll just say that I agree with a few of them.
One is Wiley Roots (CO) “Somethin’ Got Played In The Mail”. I love the little game board they made with it.
This reminds me, I got to get my own list going and debut it on “The Pours” episode of the Perfect Pour.
This Label Is Definitely ’Metal’
Speed Metal, DIPA from Trillium.
No the picture is not out of focus. That is how the label looks and I sure as hell want it.
Metal reference? Good.
Trillium Brewery? Good.
Citra based IPA? Good.
Marketing? Metal.
It’s Simply Ornamental
Good call. And, well, my friends at Zack’s Brewing HAVE one this year! Today is the last day to pick one up:
No word on a secondary market for brewery Christmas ornaments but I’ll keep an ear out.
Steve’s Not Here, Man
Cheers to Brooklyn Brewing co-founder, Steve Hindy, as he will be retiring at the end of the month after 36 years of brewing beer in Brooklyn.
Sadly, I don’t know Brooklyn’s portfolio well. We do get their Lager here. I love hearing this about him:
[Steve] He built our values: hand-delivering carts of beer in our early days and creating strong bonds within our community, donating beer to artists and creators to support creativity and self-expression, and holding our products to the highest possible standards while breaking down barriers to make way for something new, daring, and mind-opening.
Donating beer to artists!? Forever rad in my book. I will now look out for that Lager six-pack and have one for Steve.
Your Year Is Back
The annual Year In Beer from Untappd is here. If you’re a user you can look back at how drunk you got… errrrr um, see what styles were your favorite.
No surprise that IPA related beers were the most popular with users:
How the hell did Belgian Tripel get in the Top Ten is what I need to know.
Check out your Year through the discovery page (spyglass) on your Untappd.
Merry Christmas and Junk
Hope you have a great holiday, whatever you figure out! I’m thinking there won’t be a new issue of Drinking & Thinking next week because of X-Mas and all. I hope your inbox doesn’t get too lonely.
Thanks for the read! Enjoy your drinking sessions! Stay the safe! Cheers!

Love your work Mikey, seeing the “likes” makes me smile, thank you for the entertainment! Saludos
