Hi. Hope you are well.
It’s Snowing IPAs
Props to all the breweries in the Sierra Nevada Mountains these past few weeks - more snow to deal with than any other year in history, maybe?
June Lake Brewing, on the Eastern side of where I’m at, has been hit especially hard. But I have been enjoying their pics and seeing how their staff is living.
See if you can spot where this staff member keeps their beer these days outside their apartment:
I imagine when you’re a small mountain community that can be cut off from everyone when the roads get snowed in, a brewery taproom may be the only place you can hang out and be with peoples. Respect to the workers that push themselves to shovel themselves out and show up.
Beer Twitter Post OTW
Me? I am a little bit of both. While I don’t check a brewery website anymore, I will occasionally check their Untappd list to see if there is anything interesting on, to help me choose between one or another. Sometimes I will check a beer bar/taproom’s Instagram too.
But mostly, I like to be surprised when I get there. If it ends up being a boring tap list, I’ll have one beer and bounce to another place or head back home.
One More Beer Tweet
…in reference to how we rate perfect beers on Untappd. 😂 Kinda true. Giving a five rating is so difficult sometimes no matter how much we like it.
Live Beer View
The most interesting door of my local Whole Foods beer section today.
It’s heavy on the Bay Area breweries (which isn’t the worst thing since there is Russian River and all), but I wish it was LA/San Diego heavy - So Cal makes a better West Coast IPA as a rule.
I went with the Seinfeld reference label, BTW.
Thank you for the read. I appreciate it. And thanks for sharing D&T! Wear your snow pants when heading to a taproom and have a great week with your beers!

Peace ✌️ Beer 🍻 & Metal 🤘
Love that this features tweets by two good friends of mine! The beer world is small.
