Get better in 2022, labels!😄

Really though, still a sucker for a good label or beer name, even if the beer info is hidden - doubt that will change.

Also, looking ahead to this year, I see me carrying my personal trend of less hazzies and more WCIPAs, well into 2022. A solid diet of west coast IPAs with pales, hazzies, and DIPAs. Occasional stouts, lagers/pilsners, kolshs and table beer to round things out.

And shout out to anyone starting the year dry:

Can’t believe I’m doing Dry January wtf. Didn’t think it would be this hard.

You are stronger than I. Good luck!

As far as predictions on what style might blow up this year? I frankly don’t think any will. Maybe that’s a cop-out but I see things cruising as is but I’m hopeful for something interesting to happen.

It's not a rebrand of IPL. It's the future.

Beer Cruncher has been really trying to make Cold IPAs a thing (an India Pale Lager that is fermented differently, I guess), but it totally feels like he’s just trying to make fetch happen:

But hey, if Sierra is doing one, he may be on to something:

You may already be sick of lists and are super ready to just get on with the year (I am there myself) but here some of the better ones in case you are up for it.

  • For those that like knowing what the good is on the other side of the pond, Boak & Bailey has the golden stuff.

  • Vine Pair reminds us that it was a pretty shitty year for Craft Beer.

  • Speaking of a bad year, 411 Ales/Greyview Brewing/Zack’s Brewing’s incubator brewing space (here in Fresno) caught fire (because arson) this week and destroyed a lot of things. A GoFudme page has been started if you’re able to help out.

Music To Beer To

At the beginning of 2021 I started a playlist on Spotify of songs I referenced in Drinking & Thinking issues. I stuck with it for a while, but I definitely petered out. Check it out if you want to rock out with your beers out.

Speaking of, the Foo Fighters just released their full Madison Square Garden show from their current tour. It’s a long one. It would be pretty epic to mirror the show to a big TV, with some good sound, and blow through a 4-pack of westies while you watch:

Thank you for the read! May all your 2022 beers be amazing! I have been getting to posting Drinking & Thinking late pretty much the entire season. Hopeful to get back to a normal schedule after today 🤞 - although I may start posting on Sunday mornings instead of Saturday - still contemplating but we shall see what happens next weekend!

Stay safe!

Peace ✌️ Beer 🍻 & Metal 🤘
