(My Beer Of The Week, “Just Outstanding IPA”, a classic from Kern River Brewing)
I am doing something different this issue (or maybe this is the new format) because I am having a moment.
Here are three beer fueled thoughts for the week:
1.As an introvert, sitting alone at the bar isn’t bad. It’s nice actually. But it can also be depressing if you let it. I try not to let it. I try.
2. The louder the crack when opening a can, the more air is in it. This is what I’m figuring out. The breweries that don’t fill their cans to the top are savages.
3. I am going through an unwanted separation and not enough beer exists to make the knot in my stomach go away. You wouldn’t believe the fool I make of myself to this woman. All to no avail of course because who would want to be with a fool? But a responsible beer buzz gives me relief for the time being. I imagine it is some level of alcoholism but hey, it helps. It’s therapeutic. So give me a damn break.
Sorry for this. But if you’re broken too, I hope this helps you feel less alone.
Thank you for opening. I hope both our weeks will be a good one!
