I Don't Need Craft Beer To Be Cool

…and I don’t think you do either. If you’re reading this newsletter, you don’t need beer (craft or not) to be the cool thing, you just need it to exist.

We are in a “down” time for beer. And since I don’t work in the beer industry (well, I kinda do on the indie media side), it does not hurt me directly.

I like it when things are underrated.

When not everyone is doing it, that is cool with me. I don’t mean to be contrarian, but it’s true.

Thankfully, we are much better off as beer geeks than we were 15 years ago, at least in my town. There are still beer bars and breweries where there were none before, and that’s damn awesome.

Is Craft Beer taking over the world like we once thought it might? Oh hell no. And that is fine. And NA beers continuing to rise is fine too. Just as long as Craft (or Micro) sticks around, everything is cool by me.

While we are on the subject, I want to go back to calling Craft Breweries, Micro Breweries. Micro beer!

Okay. I will close by saying thank you for opening my newsletter. I so much want this newsletter to be better and I know it can be. It needs more time and effort, I know this. I just wanted you to know that I know… ya know? Cool? Cool.
