How to Make a Badass Six Pack (on a budget)

I was pretty damn proud of myself this week from my six-pack making skills.

cans of Sierra Nevada Big Little Thing IPA, New Glory HOp Craze, Mammoth Brewing Epic IPA, Pizza Port Mongo IPA, Sierra Nevada Atomic Torpedo IPA

I reference this place often, so bear with me, it’s in my neighborhood and it’s called “THE Market” and they wonderfully sell singles.

They also offer a discount when you create a sixpack. I have been feeling guilty about the money spent on beer so I went with a low-price creation.

Tall Boys are your friend when getting the most from your beer money - especially when they are doubles.

You can find, also, some DIPAs priced the same or only a little but more than their single counterpart. I know these tips are not new to you, but sometimes it’s good to be reminded?

Let’s look at the prices of my sixer:

  • Sierra Nevada Big Little Thing $3.59. (DIPA) (Tall Boy)

  • New Glory Hop Craze $4.99. (WCDIPA) (16oz)

  • Mammoth Epic IPA $3.49. (IPA) (16oz)

  • Pizza Port Mongo (2) $2.99. (DIPA) (160z)

  • Sierra Nevada Atomic Torpedo $3.49. (DIPA) (Tall Boy)

Now the kicker, The Market offers a 10% discount on a build-your-own. The total (and I am not messing with the tax part for simplicity here) is:

  • $21.54.

  • $19.39 - after 10% discount.

Under $20 for a sixpack of mostly doubles, two tall boys and all are Indie Craft Beer. Pretty damn good considering.

Next time, I could switch-out the New Glory for something cheaper (I put it in there to give me something new to have - treat yo-self). I could also do all tall-boys to get the most out - always room to improve.

So, I challenge you this week to create the most banger six or 12 pack for your buck too - you’re probably going to need a place that has Sierra, or whatever the Sierra in your town is, it definitely helps.

Okay, thank you for the read! Hope you have an awesome week with your budget beers, and we will talk next week.

I like that your main focus is on DIPAs! I tend to select DIPA beers too when I am at the market. Maybe subconsciously I want the most bang for my buck. 😆. Thanks for another great email letter.

I counted 5 chief. Did you get two of one of those? Regardless, that’s a pretty golly gosh darned good price for a 6er of 16oz cans. Super!
