Sweet Beer Jesus, what a week, ehh?!
With watching the news and locked into Twitter, its been hard to get anything done.
That includes writing and drinking beer.
I wonder if I’ll make time to get a buzz this weekend. No way to know, I guess.
The First Wave Of Black IPAs Are Here!
It’s all hap_pen_ING! The first beer style to have a moment in 2011 is Black IPAs - or Cascadian Dark Ales (for those that like to be classy).
It feels like about ten years ago when Black IPAs were a thing?
Firestone Walker has brought Wookey Jack back, as you saw. Stone has brought back Sublimely Self Righteous:
And Modern Times has the greatest of Black IPA names: Doom Blade.
It comes in at (wait for it) 6.66%. That’s Metal.
The sadness was actually when Lagunitas sold-out and became a Heineken beer and you knew things like this were going to eventually happen. Because it always does.
My Top IPA I’m Looking Out For
I think my stimulus check might have a detour before it pays some bills. I’ll buy it from Alvarado Street, I’ll buy it from Burgeon, I don’t give a shiz just drop it off on my damn porch and get in my belly!
New Drinking Music!
Two new songs from Kings Of Leon dropped this week, The Bandit and 100,000 People. Good afternoon/late evening drinking music.
Stay Safe!
Good luck to you on your drinking endeavors this weekend and the rest of the week! Maybe find a Black IPA and see what all the rebooted fuss is about.
