My favorite long read this week is Beervana’s post about legacy brewer, Pelican Brewing, out there on the Oregon Coast.
A great line in the post “Pacific City, Oregon is an unlikely beachhead for an empire.”
The brewery is still thriving after 25 years and only getting bigger.
They have a taproom, as you can see above, that is ON the beach. ON IT on it.
As fate would have it, my family has been to this place but I have not. One day.

I’m not sure about paying extra for super fresh beer. I think I might because I like super “green” IPAs, but I think it would be a bad look for a brewery.
I definitely think grocery stores and bottle shops should discount older hoppy beers! I will see it once in a while but places do not do it enough.
Discounting old beer at a taproom though? Naaa, that doesn’t have a good look to it either.
Hazy But True
This is what I think every time I have a beer from Humble Sea Brewing. I love their beer and their vibe but holy damn they make A LOT of different hazy beers and I would really need to dig deep in order to tell you how one is different from the other.
Quick Exit
Sorry, things are happening around here and I gotta keep it short this week. I still appreciate the read though. Have a safe and rad week with your beers!

Great read Mikey, but I can’t agree with HumbleSea, I feel like all the beers they make is the same thing over and over !! Just like Arrow Lodge and brouwerijWest out of L.A.! Nothing new , just the same beer different label and some small tweaking !
Love the doodles Mikey, haha, no Werther’s?? We’ve been to 2 Pelican brewing’s in OR, love them both. Hold on tight....they have THE BEST cheese curds we’ve ever had! You’ve got to go there next time you’re up there for sure. Have a great week!
