Welcome to Drinking & Thinking. It’s a newsletter to help us both think about how we can enjoy drinking good beer even more.
I might go to a Fresno County brewery today. Machine Head and/or Crow & Wolf, I am looking at you. I hate that they are not in Fresno proper. I will update that trip next week or maybe on the blog later.
Cutting it Off at Night
As mentioned before, one of my drinking themes this year is to shut down the beers for the day when I start getting sleepy. To not force myself to stay up and have another beer.
That beer usually only gets half drank. And if I do end up drinking it, it sometimes causes a hangover, or WORSE it is not enjoyable because I don’t remember having it or what it tastes like.
Welp, I am still holding serve. No true hangovers *knocks on wood* and more beers in the fridge the next day.
My sleep is still the same. With the exception of something really stressing me out, I go to sleep quickly and sleep hard, no matter how little or how much I drink.
Something to Have a Beer With
My pick this week is “Shrinking” on Apple TV. It’s a wonderful vehicle for Harrison Ford, first couple episodes were (mostly) great and Harrison is perfect.
Excited for Harrison here and for the return of the second half of the season of the other series he is in, “1923”.
Also, The Last Of Us is pretty solid so far too.
And if you want to start preparing for good weather and playing games with your beer, I wrote a post about the best games for a beer garden or your backyard, over on Mikey Top Pour.
Oh and, this rad guy you may have seen. We talked about this clip on the Perfect Pour yesterday. Love this dude:
The best quote “Two drinks a week?! Well ahhh, that’s just not feasible, not in this country.”
I think that is everyone’s belief, no matter what your politics are or what country you live in.
Okay, well, I think we are done here for this week. I really appreciate the read. Any sharing or word-of-mouth you can do for this slightly buzzed newsletter, is much appreciated.
Hope you have a great week with your beers!!
-Mikey
