Drinking Digest

I had a Pliny the other night and I started getting a little buzz, and like… it was nice.

Better than nice, actually. I really felt like it was different. Slightly elevated.

It hit differently than a standard DIPA. The quality of buzz was just a little bit better.

Maybe that is my brain thinking it is better because it is a Russian River beer.

When you think about it though, does that make it any less real? If your brain feels the buzz is better because it is a higher quality beer, doesn’t that make it real?

God Of Thunder & Hops

Breweries always play out on the fringes of violating intellectual property laws and such when creating names and can-art.

It’s not often you see the artist that gets ripped off callout the brewery though:

As Walter says in the thread, Disney owns the actual rights to the image and doubts they would do anything about it anyway. But it would be nice of Fulton Beer to send Walter a case at least.

I know I sound stupid but it has never clicked in my head that bread should taste like beer and vice versa, because they share ingredients.

You always hear about the “one beer equals seven slices of bread” crap when you’re trying to lose weight, but I STILL never connected the two like that.

• They still haven’t figured out why part of Astoria’s Buoy Beer Co’s brewery collapsed. They are handling the best they can.

• American Blonde Ale has some beer social media accounts she’s in love with.

• Some Anaheim peeps called “Brewery X” (never heard of them) just bought Modern Times for $20 mil. I guess that means they’ll still be around and are still Indie, cool by me.
