I am spoiled. I am so used to drinking 16oz beers I cannot step down to 12oz beers.
I bought a Firestone mixed-pack. It was the best option in the store I was at, it was fresh, AND it had a mixed-pack exclusive (the Idaho Secrets IPA above).
But I am now becoming aware how quickly a 12oz beer goes. It’s kind of a bummer, man.
Just when I am settled in and relaxed with my beer I suddenly realize it’s already gone and I have to drag my ass up to get another one.
Wait… [processing…] I am now realizing I can sit down with two bottles instead of one. Not sure why now, at this advanced age of life, I can finally give myself permission to sit down with two beerz.
The moral is: Treat yourself and sit down with two beers.
I Actually Did Something
In case you were wondering why this week’s issue is so late (props to you if you’re reading this on Saturday night), I actually went out drinking this morning.
Tioga Sequoia (the most noteable brewery in my town) had their “Rush Day” event today. It is an annual beer happening. A day they release variants of their very good coffee stout, Rush Hour.
I had a nice time catching up with folks (I don’t get out much) while enjoying some good breakfast beers.
I am thankful that Tioga still keeps the event going.
It got me thinking; every town needs to have some sort of annual beer geeky event. It doesn’t need to be much, but it needs to be something.
Even if your town doesn’t have a brewery, it still needs something.
Maybe you at least have a bar that has some craft mixed in with their normal handles, that could be your spot to have it.
Some sort of thing to bring your local beer community together, no matter how small. Because you KNOW there any many places that have no beer culture, but could use some.
If you try to create an event in your town, please let me know so we can all see and talk about it. We all can brain storm some things one could do, in a future post.
Anyway, that is all I wanted to talk to you about tonight. Think on that stuff. Enjoy some beers this week. Good luck to you if you haven’t finished your shopping yet (that’s me too). And I hope to get back to you on Saturday.
Cheers!
